CVSS v3.1 |
ArcadeDB before 26.9.1 contains an access control bypass vulnerability in the query_database tool exposed through the AI chat endpoints. The tool executes queries without binding the authenticated principal to DatabaseContext, causing per-type and per-bucket ACL checks to silently no-op and allowing authenticated users to read data they are explicitly denied at the per-type level. Attackers can prompt the AI assistant to execute queries against restricted types or buckets to retrieve sensitive data that would be rejected through normal query endpoints.
ArcadeDB before 26.9.1 (com.arcadedb:arcadedb-engine <= 26.8.1) fails to bind the authenticated principal onto the DatabaseAsyncTransaction async worker threads used by the parallel edge-connect phase of POST /api/v1/batch/{database}. Because those workers have no current user, LocalDatabase.checkPermissionsOnFile returns early and allows the write, bypassing per-type CREATE_RECORD/UPDATE_RECORD ACL enforcement. In deployments that rely on per-type or per-group ACLs, an authenticated low-privilege user holding CREATE_RECORD on an edge type E but with CREATE_RECORD/UPDATE_RECORD revoked on a vertex type V can submit a graph edge-load batch request (with parallelFlush at its default value of true) and durably append edges to protected vertices of type V by writing records into V's <V>_out_edges/<V>_in_edges buckets, resulting in unauthorized modification of graph adjacency. Setting parallelFlush=false causes the request to be correctly rejected. This is an incomplete fix of GHSA-c23x-pqcj-7hfm, which bound the principal only on the HTTP handler thread.
ArcadeDB before 26.9.1 fails to enforce security-group types ACL entries for TimeSeries types because the ACL resolver builds permissions from bucket IDs, but TimeSeries types do not own normal record buckets. An authenticated low-privilege user can read or insert TimeSeries samples despite explicit deny rules by exploiting the missing type-name-based access check that causes permission lookups to fail open.
ArcadeDB (Maven artifact com.arcadedb:arcadedb-engine) through 26.8.1 enforces its per-type/per-record access-control rules only in LocalBucket, keyed on file id. Query-execution paths that reach record data through LSM index files or the TimeSeries engine never invoke that permission check, so an authenticated user who is denied readRecord/deleteRecord on a type can still, with a single ordinary SQL statement, read the type's indexed key values and record IDs (e.g. SELECT key, rid FROM INDEX:Type[field]), read MAX/MIN values via the index shortcut, read and count TimeSeries samples, learn the type's record count, and delete index entries (DELETE FROM INDEX:Type[field]), which desynchronizes the index from the data and can defeat unique constraints. Index and type names needed for exploitation are discoverable because SELECT FROM schema:indexes is unfiltered. The issue affects both embedded and server deployments and all transports (HTTP, Bolt, Postgres, Gremlin) once a principal is bound. Fixed in 26.9.1.
ArcadeDB versions before 26.9.1 fail to validate IPv6 transition addresses in the SSRF guard used by IMPORT DATABASE and server commands. Authenticated attackers can supply URLs resolving to NAT64, 6to4, or Teredo addresses embedding RFC 1918 or loopback IPv4 payloads to reach internal services and cloud metadata endpoints.
ArcadeDB (Maven artifact com.arcadedb:arcadedb-engine) through 26.8.1 contains an incomplete deny-list in the polyglot script sandbox: com.arcadedb.query.polyglot.HostClassLookupFilter.DENIED lists java.util.ResourceBundle as a bare class name, which is matched by exact equality and therefore does not cover its subclasses, while ScriptTriggerExecutor.ALLOWED_PACKAGES permits java.util.*. A user with the UPDATE_SCHEMA privilege (sufficient to create or alter a JavaScript trigger; no server-admin rights required) can reference java.util.PropertyResourceBundle or java.util.ListResourceBundle and invoke the inherited static ResourceBundle.getBundle(String) to read .properties resources from the application classpath, which the sandbox (IOAccess.NONE, with java.io.**, java.nio.** and java.net.** denied) is intended to make unreachable. This can disclose packaged application configuration such as database credentials and API keys; the advisory states the issue does not provide arbitrary host filesystem read or remote code execution. Fixed in 26.9.1.
ArcadeDB is a Multi-Model DBMS. Prior to 26.6.1, the fix for CVE-2026-44221 added an UPDATE_SCHEMA authorization check only to LocalDocumentType.createProperty, while the remaining public schema mutators in engine/src/main/java/com/arcadedb/schema/LocalDocumentType.java and engine/src/main/java/com/arcadedb/schema/LocalProperty.java remained unchecked. An authenticated identity, including a read-only API token without UPDATE_SCHEMA permission, can use DROP PROPERTY, ALTER TYPE, or ALTER PROPERTY through the database command/query HTTP endpoints to rename types, change inheritance, alter aliases or buckets, drop properties, and change property constraints. The issue does not directly disclose or write record data, but unauthorized schema mutation can corrupt the meaning of stored records and breach the documented permission model. This issue is fixed in version 26.6.1.
ArcadeDB is a Multi-Model DBMS. Prior to 26.6.1, the IMPORT DATABASE statement in engine/src/main/java/com/arcadedb/query/sql/parser/ImportDatabaseStatement.java did not require administrative privileges and passed its source to integration/src/main/java/com/arcadedb/integration/importer/SourceDiscovery.java without validation. An authenticated user with SQL command access through /api/v1/command or /api/v1/query can supply HTTP or HTTPS destinations to make server-side requests to internal services, or file:// paths to read files accessible to the server process and ingest the results as queryable records. The XML importer also permits DTD processing and external entities, enabling entity expansion. The root-only /api/v1/server administration endpoint is not affected. The fix requires updateSecurity permission, blocks local-network import destinations by default through arcadedb.server.security.importBlockLocalNetworks, supports the arcadedb.server.security.importAllowedLocalPaths file allow-list, and disables XML DTD processing and external entities. This issue is fixed in version 26.6.1.
ArcadeDB is a Multi-Model DBMS. Prior to 26.7.1, a reader-role user can submit POST /api/v1/command/{database} with language: js because PolyglotQueryEngine.command, PolyglotQueryEngine.analyze, and PolyglotQueryEngine.registerFunctions do not enforce database-administrator authorization. GraalPolyglotEngine also permits scripts to bypass the allowedPackages whitelist by reflecting from the bound database object through database.getClass().getClassLoader().loadClass to arbitrary host classes. These cooperating defects allow a read-only database user to read arbitrary host files outside the database scope. Process creation is already blocked, so OS command execution is not confirmed. The issue is distinct from CVE-2026-44221, CVE-2026-54076, and CVE-2026-54077. This issue is fixed in version 26.7.1.
ArcadeDB before 26.7.2 (arcadedb-engine) allows trigger scripts to look up host classes in java.lang.* (via Java.type) because ScriptTriggerExecutor adds java.lang.* to the allowed packages. An authenticated user with UPDATE_SCHEMA permission can create a JavaScript trigger that invokes java.lang.Runtime.getRuntime().exec() (or ProcessBuilder), achieving OS command execution when the trigger fires.
ArcadeDB before 26.8.1 contains a server-side request forgery vulnerability in the OpenCypher LOAD CSV implementation that fails to validate HTTP/HTTPS URLs. Authenticated attackers can craft LOAD CSV queries pointing to internal network addresses or cloud metadata endpoints to make the ArcadeDB server fetch and return sensitive data from restricted services.
ArcadeDB before 26.8.1 (arcadedb-gremlin, affected <= 26.7.3) contains a remote code execution vulnerability in its Gremlin query engine. Although the engine defaults to the documented-secure java (gremlin-lang) engine, ArcadeGremlin.executeStatement() silently falls back to the insecure Groovy engine whenever a request carries any query parameter and the query does not parse as gremlin-lang. An authenticated user with any database role, including a read-only reader, can submit a parameterized Gremlin query to trigger the Groovy fallback and execute arbitrary operating system commands as the ArcadeDB server process user.
ArcadeDB (com.arcadedb) versions 26.7.3 and earlier fail to enforce the UPDATE_SCHEMA permission check when a DEFINE FUNCTION statement targets an already-existing function library. A user with only database access can add or overwrite SQL or Cypher functions in an existing library and persist the change, enabling tampering with admin-defined function logic. The issue is fixed in 26.8.1. (JavaScript functions still trigger the UPDATE_SECURITY check and are not affected.)
ArcadeDB versions before 26.8.1 fail to sanitize database names in the POST /api/v1/server endpoint's create database and drop database commands, allowing authenticated root users to write and delete arbitrary files outside the configured database directory. Attackers can supply database names containing ../ sequences to create databases at arbitrary filesystem paths or recursively delete directories the server process can access.
ArcadeDB versions before 26.8.1 contain an arbitrary file read vulnerability in the OpenCypher LOAD CSV FROM clause that allows authenticated users to read local files. Attackers with read query privileges can use the file:// protocol in LOAD CSV statements to access arbitrary files with server process privileges, exfiltrating sensitive data directly in query responses.
ArcadeDB versions before 26.8.1 contain a missing authentication vulnerability in the Redis wire-protocol plugin that allows unauthenticated attackers to read, write, and delete data. Attackers can connect to the Redis port and execute arbitrary commands against any database on the server without providing credentials, bypassing all security gates.
ArcadeDB's Gremlin wire-protocol plugin (com.arcadedb:arcadedb-gremlin) in versions <= 26.7.3 enforces authentication (SASL PLAIN) but performs no authorization: it never checks database access permissions (canAccessToDatabase) and never binds the authenticated principal into the engine. As a result, any valid server credential — even one provisioned for zero or one unrelated database — can read, write, and drop data in any database on the server by selecting a target database via a traversal-source alias, completely bypassing the engine's per-type/read-only/UPDATE_SCHEMA ACLs. The issue is fixed in version 26.8.1.
ArcadeDB before 26.8.1 (affected versions <= 26.7.3) contains a missing authorization vulnerability in the DELETE FUNCTION SQL statement. DeleteFunctionStatement.executeSimple unregisters and persists deletion of a server-side function without any checkPermissionsOnDatabase (UPDATE_SCHEMA) check. Any user with database access can execute DELETE FUNCTION via the command API (POST /api/v1/command/{db}) to permanently remove any registered server-side function, including security-relevant logic, impacting integrity and availability.
ArcadeDB versions 26.4.2 through 26.7.3 contain an authorization bypass vulnerability in the set_server_setting MCP server-level tool. SetServerSettingTool.execute() gates only on the global allowAdmin flag and never checks the caller's role, so in an MCP deployment with allowAdmin=true and a non-root allowedUsers set, any authenticated read-only user can invoke set_server_setting to modify server GlobalConfiguration, enabling configuration tampering or denial of service. The issue is fixed in 26.8.1.
ArcadeDB before 26.8.1 contains a denial of service vulnerability in the Cypher range() function that allows authenticated users to exhaust server heap memory. Attackers can submit oversized range() expressions with large bounds to trigger OutOfMemoryError and cause temporary service degradation or unavailability.
