CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tcp: make sure init the accept_queue's spinlocks once

KVM: arm64: vgic-its: Avoid potential UAF in LPI translation cache
There is a potential UAF scenario in the case of an LPI translation
cache hit racing with an operation that invalidates the cache, such
as a DISCARD ITS command. The root of the problem is that
vgic_its_check_cache() does not elevate the refcount on the vgic_irq
before dropping the lock that serializes refcount changes.
Have vgic_its_check_cache() raise the refcount on the returned vgic_irq
and add the corresponding decrement after queueing the interrupt. |

tty: n_gsm: require CAP_NET_ADMIN to attach N_GSM0710 ldisc
Any unprivileged user can attach N_GSM0710 ldisc, but it requires
CAP_NET_ADMIN to create a GSM network anyway.
Require initial namespace CAP_NET_ADMIN to do that. |

for processing. |

crypto: lib/mpi - Fix unexpected pointer access in mpi_ec_init
When the mpi_ec_ctx structure is initialized, some fields are not
cleared, causing a crash when referencing the field when the
structure was released. Initially, this issue was ignored because
memory for mpi_ec_ctx is allocated with the __GFP_ZERO flag.
For example, this error will be triggered when calculating the
Za value for SM2 separately. |

| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
scsi: target: Fix WRITE_SAME No Data Buffer crash
In newer version of the SBC specs, we have a NDOB bit that indicates there
is no data buffer that gets written out. If this bit is set using commands
like "sg_write_same --ndob" we will crash in target_core_iblock/file's
execute_write_same handlers when we go to access the se_cmd->t_data_sg
because its NULL.
This patch adds a check for the NDOB bit in the common WRITE SAME code
because we don't support it. And, it adds a check for zero SG elements in
each handler in case the initiator tries to send a normal WRITE SAME with
no data buffer. |
| A use-after-free in OpenVPN 2.6.0 through 2.6.20 and 2.7_alpha1 through 2.7.4 allows remote authenticated peers to potentially cause a denial of service or leak memory via crafted packets during TLS session promotion or expiry |
| A use-after-free vulnerability in the Linux kernel's net/sched: cls_u32 component can be exploited to achieve local privilege escalation.
If tcf_change_indev() fails, u32_set_parms() will immediately return an error after incrementing or decrementing the reference counter in tcf_bind_filter(). If an attacker can control the reference counter and set it to zero, they can cause the reference to be freed, leading to a use-after-free vulnerability.
We recommend upgrading past commit 04c55383fa5689357bcdd2c8036725a55ed632bc. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mm/slub: avoid accessing metadata when pointer is invalid in object_err()
object_err() reports details of an object for further debugging, such as
the freelist pointer, redzone, etc. However, if the pointer is invalid,
attempting to access object metadata can lead to a crash since it does
not point to a valid object.
One known path to the crash is when alloc_consistency_checks()
determines the pointer to the allocated object is invalid because of a
freelist corruption, and calls object_err() to report it. The debug code
should report and handle the corruption gracefully and not crash in the
process.
In case the pointer is NULL or check_valid_pointer() returns false for
the pointer, only print the pointer value and skip accessing metadata. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
netfilter: br_netfilter: do not check confirmed bit in br_nf_local_in() after confirm
When send a broadcast packet to a tap device, which was added to a bridge,
br_nf_local_in() is called to confirm the conntrack. If another conntrack
with the same hash value is added to the hash table, which can be
triggered by a normal packet to a non-bridge device, the below warning
may happen.

To solve the hash conflict, nf_ct_resolve_clash() try to merge the
conntracks, and update skb->_nfct. However, br_nf_local_in() still use the
old ct from local variable 'nfct' after confirm(), which leads to this
warning.
If confirm() does not insert the conntrack entry and return NF_DROP, the
warning may also occur. There is no need to reserve the WARN_ON_ONCE, just
remove it. |

libceph: fix invalid accesses to ceph_connection_v1_info
There is a place where generic code in messenger.c is reading and
another place where it is writing to con->v1 union member without
checking that the union member is active (i.e. msgr1 is in use).
On 64-bit systems, con->v1.auth_retry overlaps with con->v2.out_iter,
so such a read is almost guaranteed to return a bogus value instead of
0 when msgr2 is in use. This ends up being fairly benign because the
side effect is just the invalidation of the authorizer and successive
fetching of new tickets.
con->v1.connect_seq overlaps with con->v2.conn_bufs and the fact that
it's being written to can cause more serious consequences, but luckily
it's not something that happens often. |

dmaengine: ti: edma: Fix memory allocation size for queue_priority_map
Fix a critical memory allocation bug in edma_setup_from_hw() where
queue_priority_map was allocated with insufficient memory. The code
declared queue_priority_map as s8 (*)[2] (pointer to array of 2 s8),
but allocated memory using sizeof(s8) instead of the correct size.
This caused out-of-bounds memory writes when accessing:
queue_priority_map[i][0] = i;
queue_priority_map[i][1] = i;
The bug manifested as kernel crashes with "Oops - undefined instruction"
on ARM platforms (BeagleBoard-X15) during EDMA driver probe, as the
memory corruption triggered kernel hardening features on Clang.
Change the allocation to use sizeof(*queue_priority_map) which
automatically gets the correct size for the 2D array structure. |

cfg80211_update_known_bss() to free the last beacon frame
elements only if they're not shared via the corresponding

Bluetooth: Fix use-after-free in l2cap_sock_cleanup_listen()
syzbot reported the splat below without a repro.
In the splat, a single thread calling bt_accept_dequeue() freed sk
and touched it after that.
The root cause would be the racy l2cap_sock_cleanup_listen() call
added by the cited commit.
bt_accept_dequeue() is called under lock_sock() except for
l2cap_sock_release().
Two threads could see the same socket during the list iteration
in bt_accept_dequeue():
CPU1 CPU2 (close())

bt_accept_unlink(sk) <-- UAF
Depending on the timing, the other thread could show up in the
"Freed by task" part.
Let's call l2cap_sock_cleanup_listen() under lock_sock() in
l2cap_sock_release().

As a result, the problem occurs. Null pointer detection is added to
prevent problems. |

wifi: cfg80211: sme: cap SSID length in __cfg80211_connect_result()

ax25: properly unshare skbs in ax25_kiss_rcv()
Bernard Pidoux reported a regression apparently caused by commit
c353e8983e0d ("net: introduce per netns packet chains").
skb->dev becomes NULL and we crash in __netif_receive_skb_core().
Before above commit, different kind of bugs or corruptions could happen
without a major crash.
But the root cause is that ax25_kiss_rcv() can queue/mangle input skb
without checking if this skb is shared or not.
Many thanks to Bernard Pidoux for his help, diagnosis and tests.
We had a similar issue years ago fixed with commit 7aaed57c5c28
("phonet: properly unshare skbs in phonet_rcv()"). |
