CVSS v3.1 |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
tracing: Have trace_event_file have ref counters
The following can crash the kernel:
# cd /sys/kernel/tracing
# echo 'p:sched schedule' > kprobe_events
# exec 5>>events/kprobes/sched/enable
# > kprobe_events
# exec 5>&-
The above commands:
1. Change directory to the tracefs directory
2. Create a kprobe event (doesn't matter what one)
3. Open bash file descriptor 5 on the enable file of the kprobe event
4. Delete the kprobe event (removes the files too)
5. Close the bash file descriptor 5
The above causes a crash!

Oops: 0000 [#1] PREEMPT SMP PTI
CPU: 6 PID: 877 Comm: bash Not tainted 6.5.0-rc4-test-00008-g2c6b6b1029d4-dirty #186
Hardware name: QEMU Standard PC (Q35 + ICH9, 2009), BIOS 1.16.2-debian-1.16.2-1 04/01/2014
RIP: 0010:tracing_release_file_tr+0xc/0x50
What happens here is that the kprobe event creates a trace_event_file
"file" descriptor that represents the file in tracefs to the event. It
maintains state of the event (is it enabled for the given instance?).
Opening the "enable" file gets a reference to the event "file" descriptor
via the open file descriptor. When the kprobe event is deleted, the file is
also deleted from the tracefs system which also frees the event "file"
descriptor.
But as the tracefs file is still opened by user space, it will not be
totally removed until the final dput() is called on it. But this is not
true with the event "file" descriptor that is already freed. If the user
does a write to or simply closes the file descriptor it will reference the
event "file" descriptor that was just freed, causing a use-after-free bug.
To solve this, add a ref count to the event "file" descriptor as well as a
new flag called "FREED". The "file" will not be freed until the last
reference is released. But the FREE flag will be set when the event is
removed to prevent any more modifications to that event from happening,
even if there's still a reference to the event "file" descriptor. |

| Proxygen lacked a generalized slow-consumer detection mechanism in its core HTTP session layer. A remote, unauthenticated attacker could exploit HTTP/2 flow-control by setting SETTINGS_INITIAL_WINDOW_SIZE to 0 or withholding WINDOW_UPDATE frames, causing the server to buffer complete response bodies in memory indefinitely for stalled streams. By opening many simultaneous streams requesting large resources while preventing the server from transmitting responses, an attacker could induce unbounded memory growth leading to service degradation, resource exhaustion, or denial of service. Versions v2017.01.16.00 through v2026.07.20.00 are affected. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
fs/ntfs3: handle attr_set_size() errors when truncating files
If attr_set_size() fails while truncating down, the error is silently
ignored and the inode may be left in an inconsistent state. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
rust_binder: use a u64 stride when cleaning up the offsets array
Allocation's Drop walks the offsets array (binder_size_t = u64 entries),
cleaning up the objects, but it used usize instead of u64 for both the
stride and the per-entry read.
On 64-bit kernels (usize == u64) this is harmless, but on 32-bit kernels
it walks the 8-byte entries in 4-byte steps, iterating an N-entry array
2N times, and reads the always-zero high word as offset 0, cleaning up
the object at offset 0 N extra times. As a result the referenced node or
handle ends up with a lower reference count than it actually has (a
refcount over-decrement), and binder's reference accounting is corrupted;
for example, the owner can be notified of a strong reference release
(BR_RELEASE) even though references still remain.
Change the stride to u64, and read each entry as a u64, narrowing it to
usize with try_into().
On 32-bit ARM, when this over-decrement would drive a count below zero,
the driver's existing refcount guard refuses it and fires:
rust_binder: Failure: refcount underflow! |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
iio: accel: kxsd9: fix runtime PM imbalance on write_raw() error
kxsd9_write_raw() takes a runtime PM reference with pm_runtime_get_sync()
but returns -EINVAL directly when a scale with a non-zero integer part is
requested, skipping the matching pm_runtime_put_autosuspend(). This leaks
a runtime PM usage-counter reference on every such write, after which the
device can no longer autosuspend.
Set the error code and fall through to the existing put instead of
returning early. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nfsd: reset write verifier on deferred writeback errors
nfsd_vfs_write() and nfsd_commit() both call filemap_check_wb_err() to
detect deferred writeback errors, but neither rotates the server's write
verifier (nn->writeverf) when this check fails. Every other
durable-storage-failure path in these functions calls
commit_reset_write_verifier() before returning an error.
The missing rotation means clients holding UNSTABLE write data under the
current verifier will COMMIT, receive the unchanged verifier back, and
conclude their data is durable — silently dropping data that failed
writeback. This violates the UNSTABLE+COMMIT durability contract
(RFC 1813 §3.3.7, RFC 8881 §18.32).
Add commit_reset_write_verifier() calls at both filemap_check_wb_err()
error sites, matching the pattern used by adjacent error paths in the
same functions. The helper already filters -EAGAIN and -ESTALE
internally, so the calls are unconditionally safe. |
| For untrusted certificates that contain the "Authority Information Access - caIssuers URI" extension, Szafir SDK will automatically download the parent CA certificate from the specified URL and will import it to its trust store as a "nonqualified" certificate. In such a case, Szafir SDK returns a success status code of 0 ("Positively verified") upon successful cryptographic verification and a certificate status of "nonqualified".
For other types of untrusted certificates, Szafir SDK returns a success status code of 0 ("Positively verified") upon successful cryptographic verification and a certificate status of "nondetermined".
This may lead integrating applications to incorrectly treat the digital signature as valid despite an untrusted certificate chain. This flaw enables authentication bypass and user impersonation:
(1) in use-cases other than qualified certificate authentication, or
(2) if the qualified certificate authentication use-case is not correctly implemented by the integrating application.
This issue was fixed in version 1.8.463.2. |
| JGraphT Core v1.5.2 was discovered to contain a NullPointerException via the component org.jgrapht.alg.util.ToleranceDoubleComparator::compare(Double, Double). NOTE: this is disputed by multiple third parties who believe there was not reasonable evidence to determine the existence of a vulnerability. The submission may have been based on a tool that is not sufficiently robust for vulnerability identification. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
mm/mincore: handle non-swap entries before !CONFIG_SWAP guard
mincore_swap() also fields migration/hwpoison entries (and shmem
swapin-error entries), which can exist on !CONFIG_SWAP builds when
CONFIG_MIGRATION or CONFIG_MEMORY_FAILURE is enabled. The
!IS_ENABLED(CONFIG_SWAP) guard ran before the non-swap-entry early return,
so mincore_pte_range() can spuriously WARN and report these pages
nonresident on !CONFIG_SWAP kernels.
Move the guard below the non-swap-entry check so only true swap entries
trip the WARN, and migration/hwpoison entries take the existing "uptodate
/ non-shmem" path. |
| Detection of Error Condition Without Action vulnerability in Apache Tomcat when configuring CRLs for a FFM based connector.
This issue affects Apache Tomcat: from 11.0.0-M1 through 11.0.22, from 10.1.0-M7 through 10.1.55, from 9.0.83 through 9.0.118.
Users are recommended to upgrade to version 11.0.23, 10.1.56 or 9.0.119, which fixes the issue. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
vsock/vmci: fix sk_ack_backlog leak on failed handshake
When vmci_transport_recv_connecting_server() returns an error,
vmci_transport_recv_listen() calls vsock_remove_pending() but never
calls sk_acceptq_removed(). This leaves sk_ack_backlog incremented
permanently.
Repeated handshake failures (malformed packets, queue pair alloc
failure, event subscribe failure) cause sk_ack_backlog to climb
toward sk_max_ack_backlog. Once it reaches the limit the listener
permanently refuses all new connections with -ECONNREFUSED, a
silent denial of service requiring a process restart to recover.
The two existing sk_acceptq_removed() calls in af_vsock.c do not
cover this path: line 764 checks vsock_is_pending() which returns
false after vsock_remove_pending(), and line 1889 is only reached
on successful accept().
Fix by balancing sk_acceptq_added() with sk_acceptq_removed() on
the error path. |
| A flaw was found in rsync. It could allow a server to enumerate the contents of an arbitrary file from the client's machine. This issue occurs when files are being copied from a client to a server. During this process, the rsync server will send checksums of local data to the client to compare with in order to determine what data needs to be sent to the server. By sending specially constructed checksum values for arbitrary files, an attacker may be able to reconstruct the data of those files byte-by-byte based on the responses from the client. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
nvmet-tcp: propagate nvmet_tcp_build_pdu_iovec() errors to its callers
Currently, when nvmet_tcp_build_pdu_iovec() detects an out-of-bounds
PDU length or offset, it triggers nvmet_tcp_fatal_error(cmd->queue)
and returns early. However, because the function returns void, the
callers are entirely unaware that a fatal error has occurred and
that the cmd->recv_msg.msg_iter was left uninitialized.
Callers such as nvmet_tcp_handle_h2c_data_pdu() proceed to blindly
overwrite the queue state with queue->rcv_state = NVMET_TCP_RECV_DATA
Consequently, the socket receiving loop may attempt to read incoming
network data into the uninitialized iterator.
Fix this by shifting the error handling responsibility to the callers. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
ALSA: hda/conexant: Fix missing error check for jack detection
In cx_probe(), the return value of snd_hda_jack_detect_enable_callback()
is ignored. This function returns a pointer, and if it fails (e.g., due
to memory allocation failure), it returns an error pointer which must
be checked using IS_ERR().
If the registration fails, the driver continues to probe, but the jack
detection callback will not be registered. This can lead to a kernel
crash later when the driver attempts to handle jack events or accesses
the uninitialized structure.
Check the return value using IS_ERR() and propagate the error via
PTR_ERR() to the probe caller. |
| Out-of-bounds write in the Renesas TSIP TLS 1.3 transcript buffer. In tsip_StoreMessage() the capacity check guarding the fixed message bag (MSGBAG_SIZE) sets an error code but fails to return, so execution falls through to an XMEMCPY that writes past the end of the buffer once the accumulated TLS 1.3 handshake transcript exceeds MSGBAG_SIZE (8 KB), corrupting adjacent heap state and potentially causing a remote denial of service crash. The bag is sized to hold a normal handshake, so this is reached only by an unusually large but valid certificate chain, or by a malicious or man-in-the-middle server sending an oversized handshake message to a client that does not strictly verify the chain. This only affects builds using the Renesas TSIP TLS port (WOLFSSL_RENESAS_TSIP_TLS) as a TLS 1.3 client on Renesas MCUs with TSIP hardware enabled, and is rated High within those builds. All other configurations are unaffected. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
wifi: cfg80211: enforce HE/EHT cap/oper consistency
Xiang Mei reports that mac80211 could crash if eht_cap is set
but eht_oper isn't. Rather than fixing that for the individual
user(s), enforce that both HE/EHT have consistent elements. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
usb: typec: Fix error pointer dereference
The variable tps->partner is checked for an error pointer and then if it
is, it sends an error message but does not return and then immediately
dereferenced a few lines below:
tps->partner = typec_register_partner(tps->port, &desc);
if (IS_ERR(tps->partner))
dev_warn(tps->dev, "%s: failed to register partnet\n", __func__);
if (desc.identity) {
typec_partner_set_identity(tps->partner);
cd321x->cur_partner_identity = st.partner_identity;
}
Add early return and fix spelling mistake in error message.

| picklescan before 0.0.27 contains a parsing logic error in the _list_globals function when handling STACK_GLOBAL opcodes, failing to track arguments in the correct range and allowing malicious pickle files to bypass detection. Attackers can craft pickle files with arguments at position zero to trigger unexpected exceptions and evade security scanning. |
| In the Linux kernel, the following vulnerability has been resolved:
btrfs: fix invalid leaf access in btrfs_quota_enable() if ref key not found
If btrfs_search_slot_for_read() returns 1, it means we did not find any
key greater than or equals to the key we asked for, meaning we have
reached the end of the tree and therefore the path is not valid. If
this happens we need to break out of the loop and stop, instead of
continuing and accessing an invalid path. |
