An issue in WorldCast Systems ECRESO FM/DAB/TV Transmitter v1.10.1 allows authenticated attackers to escalate privileges via a crafted JSON payload.
An issue in TVS Motor Company Limited TVS Connet Android v.4.5.1 and iOS v.5.0.0 allows a remote attacker to escalate privileges via the Emergency Contact Feature. NOTE: this is disputed as discussed in the msn-official/CVE-Evidence repository.
Incorrect access control in the UART/Serial interface on the LB-LINK BL-W1210M v2.0 router allows attackers to access the root terminal without authentication.
An issue in spidernet-io spiderpool v.0.9.3 and before allows a local attacker to execute arbitrary code via a crafted command to get the token component.
| A
CWE-269: Improper Privilege Management vulnerability exists that could cause privilege escalation when the
server is accessed by a privileged account via a console and through exploitation of a setup script. |
Improper Privilege Management vulnerability in WebAppick CTX Feed allows Privilege Escalation. This issue affects CTX Feed: from n/a through 6.5.6.
Insufficient privilege verification in Reolink Smart 2K+ Plug-in Wi-Fi Video Doorbell with Chime - firmware v3.0.0.4662_2503122283 allows authenticated attackers to create accounts with elevated privileges.
There is a ClusterRole in piraeus-operator v2.5.0 and earlier which has been granted list secrets permission, which allows an attacker to impersonate the service account bound to this ClusterRole and use its high-risk privileges to list confidential information across the cluster.
Hw64.sys in Marvin Test HW.exe before 5.0.5.0 allows unprivileged user-mode processes to arbitrarily map physical memory via IOCTL 0x9c406490 (for IoAllocateMdl, MmBuildMdlForNonPagedPool, and MmMapLockedPages), leading to NT AUTHORITY\SYSTEM privilege escalation.
theshit is a command-line utility that automatically detects and fixes common mistakes in shell commands. Prior to version 0.1.1, the application loads custom Python rules and configuration files from user-writable locations (e.g., `~/.config/theshit/`) without validating ownership or permissions when executed with elevated privileges. If the tool is invoked with `sudo` or otherwise runs with an effective UID of root, it continues to trust configuration files originating from the unprivileged user's environment. This allows a local attacker to inject arbitrary Python code via a malicious rule or configuration file, which is then executed with root privileges. Any system where this tool is executed with elevated privileges is affected. In environments where the tool is permitted to run via `sudo` without a password (`NOPASSWD`), a local unprivileged user can escalate privileges to root without additional interaction. The issue has been fixed in version 0.1.1. The patch introduces strict ownership and permission checks for all configuration files and custom rules. The application now enforces that rules are only loaded if they are owned by the effective user executing the tool. When executed with elevated privileges (`EUID=0`), the application refuses to load any files that are not owned by root or that are writable by non-root users. When executed as a non-root user, it similarly refuses to load rules owned by other users. This prevents both vertical and horizontal privilege escalation via execution of untrusted code. If upgrading is not possible, users should avoid executing the application with `sudo` or as the root user. As a temporary mitigation, ensure that directories containing custom rules and configuration files are owned by root and are not writable by non-root users. Administrators may also audit existing custom rules before running the tool with elevated privileges.
An issue in Coresmartcontracts Uniswap v.3.0 and fixed in v.4.0 allows a remote attacker to escalate privileges via the _modifyPosition function
| CWE-269: Improper Privilege Management vulnerability exists that could cause unauthorized
access, loss of confidentiality, integrity, and availability of the workstation when non-admin
authenticated user tries to perform privilege escalation by tampering with the binaries |
Exposure of resource to wrong sphere in some Intel(R) DTT software installers may allow an authenticated user to potentially enable escalation of privilege via local access.
An issue in SiSoftware SANDRA v31.66 (SANDRA.sys 15.18.1.1) and before allows an attacker to escalate privileges via a crafted buffer sent to the Kernel Driver using the DeviceIoControl Windows API.
Improper Privilege Management vulnerability in Qube One Ltd. Redirection for Contact Form 7 wpcf7-redirect allows Privilege Escalation. This issue affects Redirection for Contact Form 7: from n/a through 2.7.0.
Due to excessive privileges granted to the web user running the airpointer web platform, a malicious actor that gains control of the this user would be able to privilege escalate to the root user
SoftIron HyperCloud 2.5.0 through 2.6.3 may incorrectly add user SSH keys to the administrator-level authorized keys under certain conditions, allowing unauthorized privilege escalation to admin via SSH. Affects non-production debug and internal development builds created between versions 2.5.0 and 2.6.3. No generally available (GA) or customer-released production builds were affected. There is no evidence that this issue was exposed in customer environments or production deployments.
The Homey Login Register plugin for WordPress is vulnerable to privilege escalation in all versions up to, and including, 2.4.0. This is due to the plugin allowing users who are registering new accounts to set their own role. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to gain elevated privileges by creating an account with the administrator role.
By making minor configuration changes to the TropOS 4th Gen device, an authenticated user with the ability to run user level shell commands can enable access via secure shell (SSH) to an unrestricted root shell. This is possible through abuse of a particular set of scripts and executables that allow for certain commands to be run as root from an unprivileged context.
The Homey theme for WordPress is vulnerable to privilege escalation in all versions up to, and including, 2.4.2. This is due to the plugin allowing users who are registering new accounts to set their own role. This makes it possible for unauthenticated attackers to gain elevated privileges by creating an account with the Administrator, Editor, or Shop Manager role.
